Kolk was a place in the municipality of Oberndorfmark in Ostheidmark in the old district of Fallingbostel , today a municipality-free district of Osterheide in the district of Heidekreis , near Walsrode in the Lüneburg Heath .

history

Kolk was first mentioned in a document in 1337 and 1338 in the document book of the St. Johannis Walsrode monastery , as "kolege" or "college" . The name Kolk probably means "round water hole". Mainly heather farmers lived in Kolk . Your main occupation was well into the 19th century the Schnuckenhaltung .

On the Oerbke - Oberndorfmark road, about 200 meters to the west at the edge of the forest, was the Kolk sheep farm. She belonged to the large Kolkhof. As the name sheep suggests, the court had, on the edge housed the sheep farmers, and built the house for the shepherd. In the course of the establishment of the Bergen military training area , the resettlement of the population and the evacuation of the entire area took place from summer 1935 to May 1936. The farm owners were compensated, the buildings were mostly demolished.
