Kollen Island is a 75 m high island off the coast of the East Antarctic Kempland . It lies off the eastern flank of the tongue of the Hoseason Glacier .
Norwegian cartographers, who named them Kollen ( Norwegian for hill ), mapped them in 1946 using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this designation into English.
