The Bera Holding is a large Turkish industrial and trading group . The first Kombassan A.Ş. was founded. ( Konya Matbaa, Basım, Ambalaj İmalat Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi ) in Konya in 1988 , the group started operations a short time later. With two holding companies, it controls numerous subsidiaries in the fields of paper, mechanical engineering and metal processing, food, oil and gas, construction and building materials, textiles, mining and tourism, etc. a. The corporate philosophy is based on the functionality of a sense of togetherness in which corporate management and large and small shareholders combine for common economic goals.

Kombassan in Europe

At the end of the 1990s, as a result of increased capital requirements, Kombassan sought contact with the well-organized associations and mosques of Turkish migrants in Europe, especially in Germany, as a resource for financing capital increases. More than 80,000 shareholders responded to the group's call to participate in building up the company. The group successfully relied on the ties to the homeland of Turkish migrants as well as the wish of many people to avoid speculative investment methods in favor of Islam-compliant investments.

As a springboard for further investments in Europe and the USA, the group founded “Bera Holdings SA, Luxembourg” in Luxembourg in 1999. The project failed mainly because of a failed investment in the United States, so that in 2007 it had to file for bankruptcy.

The group of companies has had problems since 2000 when the Turkish Capital Market Authority (SPK) targeted it. Among other things, this warned against acquiring Kombassan shares. This was first picked up by the Turkish press, from where criticism was also loud in Germany. Kombassan was accused of having deprived numerous investors of their savings through unfair business practices. The consequence was an increasing number of damages lawsuits due to alleged fraud, some of which were won, for example in courts in Cologne, Bremen and Berlin. It was only after a considerable delay that the company management recognized the scope of these allegations. In the further course of the proceedings, the Federal Court of Justice ruled in several rulings that there was neither a pyramid scheme nor violations of capital market law. Kombassan was able to prevail against proceedings of the capital market supervision in Turkey. Recently, lawsuits have been increasingly dismissed. In the opinion of Turkish courts, problems in the enforcement of German judgments arise from violations of German courts against international agreements.

The takeover of the production facilities of the former MZ works in Turkey caused a stir in 1995, which Kombassan relocated to Turkey in order to manufacture motorcycles there under the "Kanuni" brand. The project has since been discontinued.

Since 2007, the top management of the Kombassan Group has been restructured. Kombassan aims to go public in Turkey by 2012.
