Combine household appliances Karl-Marx-Stadt

The Combine Household Appliances Karl-Marx-Stadt was a group of publicly owned enterprises (VEB) of the GDR . It emerged from the VVB Eisen-, Blech- und Metallwaren (EBM) and existed from 1951 to 1990. In 1987, 28 VEBs were assigned to it.

The range of goods offered by the combine operations included, for example, refrigerators, washing machines, cutlery, cookware and pocket knives. The Foron brand was registered as a trademark for the products of the combine . In the 1980s, the Scharfenstein plant supplied refrigerators to the West German mail order company Quelle , which sold the devices under the Privilege brand. Another success was the acquisition of the license to reproduce Swiss Army Knives , which were sold under the Foron brand .
