Communication series

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A communication series is a chronological sequence of certain communication units which are communicated in a socially coherent way between the communication partners of a group in the course of their communication. If the communication units are “communicates”, that is to say monologues , dialogues and / or dialogue presentations, a series of communications is present. If the communication units are “communication segments”, that is to say parts of communication, a series of communication segments is present. The typology of the communication series is the subject of the series theory.

Elements of the communication series

Communicates as elements of the communicat series are holistic formulations that are completed for each communication situation. Communicates of the monologue type are text communicates (as communicated texts) and extreme monologues. Dialogue-type communications are conversations and program dialogues (as dialogues between a user and a program). Dialogue performance communicates are presentations of conversations and presentations of program dialogues.

A first-level series of communications (see below) can consist of monologues, dialogues and / or dialogue presentations as immediate elements. An example of a first-level series of communications consisting of monological communications is the sequence of letters in an exchange of letters with the letters as communications. An example of a first-level communication series consisting of dialogic communicates is the sequence of conversations in a discussion round with the conversations as communicates. An example of a first-level communication series consisting of communicates that present dialogues is the sequence of talk shows by a broadcaster with the presentations of the conversations (talks) to the broadcaster audience as communicates. An example of a first-level communication series that is mixed with regard to the directions of communication is a communication partnership in which both mails and conversations are communicated.

The elements of communications are speech acts . The speech acts are realized through syntactic units.

The elements of the communication segment series

Communication segments as elements of the communication segment series are parts of communicates (word, phrase, speech act, paragraph) that are intertextually related to one another.

The group types of the communication series

An undivided communication group is a basic group or a first level group. Their communication as a sequence of communications results in a first-level series of communications, in the case of a discussion group, roughly a basic series of conversations. If basic groups join together to form a superordinate overall group, for example a superordinate administrative unit, a second level group and, analogously, a second level communication series with basic series as the first level and the series of these basic series as the second level result. With regard to the basic series, the communications are direct elements of the basic series and with regard to the second-level communication series, indirect elements of this series. A distinction must be made between internal and cross-base group communication series.

Groups and rows of higher levels up to very large groups to be counted in millions result analogously.
