Ulla Fix

Ulla Fix (born August 14, 1942 in Arnstadt ) is a German linguist. She is emeritus professor of German Studies of the presence of the University of Leipzig .

Ulla Fix studied German and English at the University of Leipzig until 1968 . She then worked there as a research assistant and received her doctorate in 1971 with the thesis "On the relationship between syntax and semantics in word group complexes". In 1978 she became a senior research assistant in Leipzig. After guest stays as a lecturer in Baghdad and Helsinki , she worked at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . There she completed her habilitation in 1988 with the thesis “Communicative Adequate - Stylistically Adequate. On problems, categories and criteria of speech evaluation ”. In 1992 she was appointed full professor for contemporary German at the University of Leipzig. In 2007 she retired.

Her work focuses on a. “Contemporary German Language”, text linguistics and stylistics. Numerous specialist book publications come from her.
