Communication technology area

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The subject of communication technology (KtB) is one of three compulsory elective subjects at Bavarian secondary schools . Up until a few years ago it was referred to as word processing (TV) or "machine writing " and later as commercial and office technology (KbB).

The KtB subject is intended to impart basic knowledge in the field of modern office communication and organization . The focus here is on typing with ten fingers and carrying out office correspondence. But also the design of tables, the calculation with a common spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel or Calc (Open Office), the creation of forms , serial and business letters and the mastery of a common word processing program like Microsoft Word or Writer (Open Office) are important skills that are conveyed to the students. In addition, the students learn the basics of data protection , how a network works and how to use hardware and software .

In this way, the subject creates ideal conditions for later learning the apprenticeship as a clerk for office communication recognized by the BBiG , as well as the basic principles for the profession of office clerk .

In contrast to the subjects GtB (commercial-technical area) and HsB (housekeeping-social area), the subject KtB was designed for secondary school students who would like to orientate themselves professionally towards commercial administration. This subject is also offered to M -children in the seventh to tenth grades, who can sometimes acquire the secondary school leaving certificate in this subject .

criticism

Due to the apprenticeship situation, it is currently difficult to get training in the commercial or administrative area. This subject can only be of use in the original sense for pupils who are trying to transfer to a secondary school or business school. However, it helps the students to cope with the organizational tasks of everyday adult life due to the general content such as letter design and mailing.
