The Communist Party of the Philippines ( English Communist Party of the Philippines ( CPP )) is a communist party founded in 1968 . Your guerrilla organization Nuevo Ejército del Pueblo has been waging a guerrilla war against the government of the Philippines since 1969 . The CPP belongs to the International Conference of Marxist-Lenist Parties and Organizations . The EU Council of Ministers has the party, as well as its militant arm, on its list for the fight against terrorism . It is believed to be still run by its founder, José María Sison , who lives in exile in the Netherlands. In August 2015 it became known that the party wanted to join the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR).
