Complex salts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Complex salts are compounds in the structure of which complex ions are involved. The complex formation can have taken place in the anion , in the cation or in both. In contrast to the double salts , complex molecules only dissociate up to the complex ion. Because these are usually quite stable, central ions and ligands cannot be detected directly, only the complex ion as a whole.
