Compost soil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When compost is called the garden soil with compost - the end product of composting mixed -. It is used for natural fertilization , pest control and soil improvement .

The compost soil contains, depending on the raw material from which it was created, 2-3% nitrogen , 2-3% phosphorus and 1-3% potash and must not be used for sowing.

Natural fertilization

During fertilization, the nutrients from the compost are released slowly and fluently, the plants only take in as much nutrients as they need and there is no over-fertilization .

Pest control

The plants are healthier and more resilient because they are not over-fertilized and therefore less susceptible to pests. The microorganisms contained in the compost keep off harmful soil organisms .

Soil improvement

The crumbly structure of the compost ensures air exchange and is able to hold water. The high proportion of humus promotes fertility, loosens heavy soils and counteracts soil acidification . There is also a high proportion of nutrients in the compost which makes the soil particularly fertile.
