history

The Werl Air Base was originally located on the site . During the construction of the air base, the remains of a Roman settlement were found and coins from this period were found. This ring road serves to develop the entire industrial area and is at the same time the access route for the other industrial areas in the north of Werl.

The 'KonWerl 2010' project was to be completed by 2010, with the largest part of the area being used for commercial purposes as early as November 2004, especially by companies in the logistics sector. The final expansion in the Belgische Strasse construction area was planned for 2011, but was not implemented that year. KonWerl energy park
