Assembly
In production and technology, finishing is any type of division, length division or definition of application-specific end pieces and dimensions . The person who carries out this work is called the manufacturer .
The term comes from the textile industry. Ready-to-wear denotes the entrepreneur who sells finished clothing, formerly also the skilled worker who develops samples, monitors the cutting, right through to the packaging of the finished part. The terms clothing and clothing size usually refer to textiles.
Assembly was later transferred to similar work in other industrial sectors.
In particular, the term describes, for example:
- editing the recording format and length of photographic film and paper material .
- Cutting a cable (electrical cable or fiber optic cable ) and attaching the connector: see cable assembly
- the packaging of small parts
- Execution of the type of packaging (this includes reels , bundles for cables and ropes, tape & reel for electronic components, blister packaging and boxes )
