The congregation of the Mariawitki Sisters (Polish: Zgromadzenie Sióstr Mariawitek Nieustającej Adoracji Ubłagania , also Mariawitki ) is a Polish women's religious order of the Old Catholic Church of the Mariavites , founded under the name of Zgromadzenie Sióstr Ubogich św. Klary by Maria Franciszka Kozłowska in 1887.

The main building of the congregation is located in the Monastery of Świątynia Miłosierdzia i Miłości ( Church of Mercy and Love) in Płock . Since 2009 there are no more sisters of the religious community in Poland . A Polish Mariawitki religious sister has been doing her service in a Parisian Mariavite congregation since 2011 .

history

The congregation was founded on September 8, 1887 in Płock . During the years 1887-1905 the religious community worked as a Roman Catholic congregation under the name Zgromadzenie Sióstr Ubogich Świętej Matki Klary (Congregation of Sisters of the Poor of Holy Mother Clare). After the excommunication of the order by Pope Pius X , the organization of the order continued as a women's order of the Catholic Church of the Mariavites from 1906 to 1919 and from 1919 as a women's order of the Old Catholic Church of the Mariavites .

In 2009 the nun Maria Apolinaria Abramowska , who was the last of the order in Płock, died. There were no appointments between 2009 and 2011.

In 2011 there was a rebirth in France . On June 11, 2011, Jacqueline Poisson made her vow in a Parisian Mariavite congregation and has since served there as a religious sister.
