Conidiophore
A conidiophore (also conidiophores ) is a konidientragende hyphae that clearly from vegetative mycelium is different.
A conidiophore can either be a conidium-bearing cell that sits directly on the mycelium, or it is a conidium-bearing cell including its carrier cells. In the latter case, only the carrier cell, but not the conidiophores themselves, is called the conidiophore. So the term is used inconsistently.
Classification
Different types are distinguished depending on the shape of the conidiophore.
designation | aspergilloid | penicillate | trichodermoid | verticillate |

description | The conidiophore is thickened on top, as is typical of the genus Aspergillus . The thickening is often vesicles called. Metulae or conidiogenic cells are formed on it. | The conidiophore is branched several times on the upper side, similar to many species of the genus Penicillium . The branches take place at least twice in a row and at least dichotomously. | The conidiophore is multiply branched, similar to the genus Trichoderma . Usually the branches are numerous, whereby the entire conidiophore assumes a pyramidal shape. | The conidiophore is branched one or more times along an axis like a whorl . The branches are mostly conidiogenic cells, more rarely metulae. |
