Royal HFC

The Koninklijke Haarlemsche Football Club is a Dutch football club . Until 1959 it was known as HFC . In the 2008/09 season, the first team plays in the Tweede class of Sunday amateurs, the fifth highest division.

The club was founded as the Haarlemsche Football Club by the Dutch football pioneer Pim Mulier on September 15, 1879, making it the oldest pure football club in the Netherlands. Since 1889 the HFC took part in the NVAB's gaming operations . In 1890, 1893 and 1895 the club won the (still unofficial) championship . In 1904 the first team of the HFC won the Holdertbeker , a forerunner of the KNVB Cup . In the following season he set two records in the cup competition, which still existed in 2009: the win against Vlissingsche VV with 25: 0 is the highest cup result since then. Eddy Holdert scored 13 goals alone, which no one could surpass until 2009. In 1913 and 1915 the club won the cup again.

In 1959, for the 80th anniversary of its existence, the club was given the status of “royal” club and has been called Koninklijke HFC ever since .
