Konkordienkirche

The Konkordienkirche was a church in the Hasserode district of the city of Wernigerode in Saxony-Anhalt . The name referred to the concord formula written in 1577 .

The church building on Langer Stieg has been used as a kindergarten by the Protestant community of the neighboring Christ Church since 1937 .

The church was built in 1847 according to plans by Friedrich August Stülers . Sketches of ideas for the building also came from Friedrich Wilhelm IV. A crossing tower rises in the middle of the cross-shaped structure . The building consisted of a high central room with a square floor plan, which was surrounded by galleries overhanging arcades . However, the interior of the building has been significantly changed by the interim ceilings.
