The ZCOM - Zuse Computer Museum (previously: Konrad Zuse Computer Museum ) in Hoyerswerda exhibits important works by Konrad Zuse .
history
The museum was inaugurated as the Konrad Zuse Computer Museum on September 19, 1995 and opened to the public on October 23, 1995. Initially, the museum was located in the LAUTECH building in a room with an exhibition area of 32 m².
On January 1, 1997, the museum was taken over by the Seniorenakademie Hoyerswerda eV (SENAK) as a sponsoring association. On February 3, 1999, the support association Konrad-Zuse-Computermuseum Hoyerswerda eV was founded, which from then on acted as the sponsor of the museum. In March 2002 the association "Spirit of Zuse" eV and the sponsoring association "Konrad-Zuse-Computer Museum Hoyerswerda" eV merged to form the common name "Spirit of Zuse" eV
In November 2004, an archive was set up for the orderly storage of literature on computing technology and electronics as well as on various programming languages.
On November 26, 2008, the association's general meeting decided to rename it to “Konrad Zuse Forum Hoyerswerda” eV The exhibition area increased from 32 m² to approx. 350 m² in 2016. At the new location on D.-Bonhoeffer-Strasse 1–3 a new permanent exhibition was created on 1000 m². This not only deals with computer technology, but also illuminates the social effects of this and links up with art. Since August 2017, the development of the first computer as a kind of radio play can be followed interactively in the museum with 12 QR code stations in 45 minutes.

After moving the museum and renovating it for around 3.3 million euros, the museum will reopen on January 28, 2017.
