Konrad von Gemmingen

Konrad von Gemmingen († 1463 ) was an early representative of the barons of Gemmingen . He was Vogt of the Oberamt Bretten and Ganerbe in Aries . His brothers Diether V. and Hans der Reiche founded the Steinegg and Guttenberg lines that still exist today within the family. The family line founded by Konrad died out again in the male line with his sons.

He was a son of Dietrich von Gemmingen († 1414) and Els von Sachsenheim († around 1389). He was married to Margaret of Weingarten, from her first marriage to Reinhard Hofwarth of Kirchheim a quarter of ganerbschaft of rams brought into the marriage. In 1415 he and his brother received the father's fief . In 1422 he was with other family members among the helpers of Bishop Raban von Speyer against the city of Speyer. Konrad was married to Margarethe von Weingarten († 1464). Both are buried in Gemmingen .
