Konstantinos Leichoudes

Konstantinos Leichoudes ( Middle Greek Κωνσταντῖνος Λειχούδης , * end of the 10th century in Constantinople ; † 9 or 10 August 1063 ibid), was 1059 to 1063 as Constantine III. Patriarch of Constantinople . He was a student of Johannes Mauropous , later Minister of Emperor Michael V , Protovestiarius . Isaac Komnenus appointed the layman Constantine in 1059 as Patriarch of Constantinople after Patriarch Michael I. Kerularius died in exile in Prokonnesus. He was a close friend of the historian Michael Psellos , but had him admitted to the monastery of Narsou on the western edge of Constantinople when he was accused of neglecting his oath as a monk.

Descendants of Leichoudes were the Russian philosophers Joanniki Lichud and Sophronius Lichud .
