Kontrafakt is the name of a hip-hop band from Piešťany in Slovakia .

The band was formed in late 2001. Its members are Michal Straka ( Ego ), Patrik Vrbovský ( Rytmus ) and Ondrej Beňačka ( DJ Anežka ). They give concerts in Slovakia and all of Central Europe .

The first album, Kontrafakt (12 ") , was produced at cost as MURDAR DEMLES , with the co-production BbaRáK , in 2003. In 2004 Kontrafakt released the album ERA , the production of this record was taken over by Sony Music Entertainment Czech Republic .

Swear words are often used in their texts. Kontrafakt works with musicians from the Czech scene as well as from Poland and Russia ( WWO , P13). In 2006, the band member published Rytmus his first solo album bengoro (German: malice ).

At the end of 2007, the fourth work of the band appeared with the album Bozk na rozlúčku .

On December 13th, 2019 the album "Real Newz" was released on the label "Tvoj Tatko Records".
