Stavanger Concert Hall ( Norwegian : Stavanger konserthus ) is a concert hall in the Norwegian city of Stavanger .

It is located at Sandvigå 1 on the west bank of Vågen harbor in the northwestern part of Stavanger city center, north of the Gamle Stavanger district .

History and equipment

The concert hall was designed by the architect Per Christian Brynildsen of the Norwegian architecture firm Ratio Arkitekter AS and opened in September 2012. Two parts of the building were created, separated by a footpath and a bike path. The southern part includes the Flerbrukssal , a multi-purpose hall encased in glass, and north of it, embedded in a red concrete casing, the actual Fartein Valen concert hall . The parts of the building are designed in such a way that a rock concert can take place in the multi-purpose hall and a classical concert can take place in the concert hall at the same time.

There is a restaurant in the foyer.
