The Kopalnia Węgla Kamiennego Chwałowice (formerly Donnersmarckgrube ) is an active mine in the coal industry in Rybnik , Upper Silesia. It belonged to the Kompania Węglowa SA Group until April 30, 2016 and achieved the fourth-best consolidated result in 2014 with a slight loss of 12.46 zł per ton of coal mined. It made slight profits in 2015 (PLN 8.66 per ton). It was taken over into the newly created Polska Grupa Górnicza Group on May 1, 2016 and incorporated into the newly created Kopalnia Węgla Kamiennego ROW (Rybniki Okręk Węglowa) mine on July 1, 2016 .

history

In 1897 Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck bought 40.35 km² of land in the villages of Boguszowice, Chwałowice and Jankowice. a. with the aim of mining coal there and consolidated the fields under the name Donnersmarckgrube. These rich coal reserves were developed over the next few years and decades by the Donnersmarckgrube / Chwałowice (20.35 km²) and Römergrube / Rymer (19.65 km²) mines .

The new “Donnersmarckgrube” mine was registered on September 14, 1897. From 1906 it belonged to the United Königs- and Laurahütte , and it remained in Donnersmarck's possession until the end of the Second World War . Today the mine belongs to the Kompania Węglowa SA concern.

The sinking work began in 1903, but the first two shafts could not begin production until 1907 because thick floating layers had to be penetrated.

The storage of the coal layers is very different and ranges from flat storage in the middle of the area to half-steep storage of 30 ° to 35 ° in the west and 20 ° to 25 ° in the east. While initially the coal was extracted from the 320 m and 380 m levels, the mine today extracts the coal at a depth of 500 m, with the seams up to 160 m above this level. The existing 320 m and 380 m levels are used for ventilation. During the excavation of the new 700 m level, shafts II and VIII are to be made penetrable by a 310 m long straightening section. The two levels at 550 m and 700 m depth are then connected to each other by an inclined plane.

The central shaft system of the mine comprises shafts I, II and VIII, while shafts V, VII and Marcin are located as weather shafts on the outskirts of Chwałowice.

At present, the average production of the Chwałowice colliery is 10,500t / d at three to four mining points. The right is currently 20.7 km². 2804 people are employed.

All three shafts I, II and VIII located on the main system are used for cable travel as well as for material transport and coal extraction. Shaft I has a depth of 415.24 m, II (double extraction) one of 723.6 m and VIII one of 725.75 m. V is a moving weather and material shaft (399.77 m), VII and Marcin are weather shafts without access systems (V: 543.05 m; Marcin 200.79 m). As part of the mining on the 700 m level, it is planned to keep only shafts II, VIII, V and VII and to discard all others.
