Korbinian (dialect poet)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Korbinian (born October 19, 1919 in Kempten (Allgäu) ; † June 5, 1980 , actually Karl Fleischhut ) was an Allgäu dialect poet and cabaret artist .

Korbinian grew up in modest circumstances. His parents died early. During the Second World War he served with the mountain troops . After that he was employed at the animal breeding office, which brought him into contact with the simple farming life in the region. A little later, he moved to the tractor manufacturer Fendt in Marktoberdorf as an advertising copywriter . His marriage, which had two children, did not last long. He was incapable of an orderly bourgeois life.

His stage name goes back to appearances on the Allgäu farmers' stage Sepp Mösle, where he played the role of the Sägfeller Korbinian in the play "The Sinful Village". He had a close friendship with the popular actor Michl Lang . In his homeland he was best known for his texts and poems written in dialect. The subject was the everyday life of ordinary people, which he sketched with humor. His first volume with poems and prose “Na und Nauf” was self-published. It was later reissued by Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag . In addition to a few monographs, he has published numerous smaller poems in print. He sifted through and sorted the estate of the Kempten local poet Else Eberhard-Schobacher . The Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag published a reminiscence about him in 1981 under the title “Gschichtla vom Korbinian”. The city of Kempten has named a path in his honor. An inn in Kempten also bears his name.
