The Local newspaper Verlag GmbH ( Vt ) is a media company based in Kempten (Allgäu) . The business area is the Allgäu. The company was founded in 1968 by the publisher Curt Frenzel ( Augsburger Allgemeine ) and Georg von Waldburg zu Zeil and Trauchburg in equal parts. This also justifies the shell part of the Augsburger Allgemeine with supraregional topics.

In 1998 the publishing house moved from Kotterner Straße (today Bigbox Allgäu ) to new premises in an industrial park in Leubas . In 2001 the publishers of the Allgäuer Zeitung Füssen and the Buchloer Zeitung, in 2004 the Allgäuer Zeitung Marktoberdorf and finally in 2005 the Memminger Zeitung were integrated into the Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag.
