Korintha Bärtsch

Korintha Bärtsch (born June 30, 1984 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ). She has been a member of the Lucerne Cantonal Council since June 2019 .

biography

Korintha Bärtsch attended the Alpenquai Cantonal School in Lucerne . After completing a master's degree in environmental science at the ETH Zurich , she worked in the area of noise protection for the Environment and Energy Department of the Canton of Lucerne. She is currently the project manager in the consulting and planning office IC Infraconsult in Bern .

Bärtsch is involved in various clubs and associations, among other things she is co-president of Pro Velo Luzern . She lives in the city of Lucerne.

politics

Bärtsch was already active in the Lucerne youth parliament as a teenager. In 2005 she was elected to the City Council of Lucerne (legislature), and in 2011 she presided over this council. In 2012 she became the leader of the Greens in the Grand City Council. She held this office until she was elected to the Lucerne Cantonal Council in 2019. She has been a member of the Spatial Planning, Environment and Energy Commission there since June 17, 2019.

At the same time as the election to the cantonal council, Bärtsch ran for a seat in the Lucerne cantonal government in 2019. In doing so, she achieved a respectable success by forcing two previous government councilors into a second ballot. She is running for a seat in the National Council in the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2019 .
