Kota Pinang is a small town on the island of Sumatra in the North Sumatra Province of Indonesia . It is about 115 m above sea level and has around 55,000 inhabitants (2010).
It was once the capital of the small sultanate of Kota Pinang and is now the administrative seat of the administrative district ( Kabupaten ) of South Labuhan Batu ( Labuhan Batu Selatan ).
