Koyambedu ( Tamil : கோயம்பேடு Kōyampēṭu [ ˈkoːjʌmbeːɖɯ ]) is a district of Chennai (Madras), the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu .

Asia 's largest vegetable market is located in Koyambedu , the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex (KWMC) , which opened in 1996 . The market has an area of ​​119 hectares and is home to over 3000 shops.

Asia's largest bus terminal , Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), is also located in Koyambedu.
