The metro station Koyambedu ( Tamil : கோயம்பேடு ) is an above-ground subway station of Chennai Metro . It is served by the Green Line .
The Koyambedu metro station is designed as a high station and is located on the Poonamallee High Road ( National Highway 4 ) in the Koyambedu district in western Chennai. The vegetable market Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex (KWMC) is not far from the metro station . In addition, the tracks to the Chennai Metro depot branch off at the Koyambedu metro station . The Koyambedu metro station opened on June 29, 2015 as part of the first section of the Green Line.
