Coronation Order

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The coronation order is the order of worship for the spiritual part of the king's exaltation . It usually contains the following elements: clothing with the insignia , anointing , coronation , enthronement and lauds.

It contains literally the addresses that the bishops address to the king. However, it is often not certain whether a coronation ordo was ever applied in exactly the same way at the time in which it was written. But one can derive from it normative ideas of the time about the correct form of a coronation.
