The Krösselberg is a mountain in Northern Hesse ( 301  m ) that made headlines in the region due to its extremely calcareous soil when a referendum voted against the mining of the lime and thus caused losses in the millions for the municipality of Meißner .

It was not until 1998 that the then mayor and hobby hunter Adolf Fritz successfully poached the formerly native mouflon on this Krösselberg . The number of animals increased tenfold within 3 years, which was obviously the reason for the negative referendum.
