The Plomin power plant ( Croatian : Termoelektrana Plomin , short: TE Plomin ) is a thermal power plant that went into operation in 1970 near the village of Plomin (municipality of Kršan , Istria County , Croatia ). It is fired with hard coal.
In addition to Unit 1, which has an installed capacity of 120 MW, Unit 2 with a further 210 MW was put into operation in 2000. The power plant has a 340 m high chimney, which is the tallest structure in Croatia. Block 1 is operated by Hrvatska elektroprivreda (HEP), Block 2 by TE Plomin doo , in which HEP and the German company RWE each hold 50%.
