Kragaleus

Kragaleus ( Greek Κραγαλεύς ), son of Dryops , is a figure in Greek mythology .

In his native Dryopia he was known for his righteous disposition. When Apollon , Artemis and Heracles got into a dispute over ambrakia in Epeiros , they asked Kragaleus to act as arbiter. He awarded the city to Heracles, whereupon Apollo turned him into a rock on the spot. Since then, the ambergris have sacrificed to him every time after the feast of Heracles.

Kragaleus is considered to be the namesake of the Kragaliden , a tribe in the southern part of Phocis .
