A Krainer wall (grammatically consistent but rare case: Krainer wall ) is a particular form of the support wall . It consists of a lattice structure made of wood or other resilient building materials into which a filler (e.g. earth, gravel) is poured. They are planted to give them additional strength through the roots. The name is traced back to the Slovenian landscape Carniola .

construction

Krainer walls are built in storeys from long girders along the direction of the slope, which are referred to as runners , and shorter ones across the direction of the slope, known as brackets . The brackets carry the next runner and must absorb the tensile forces. Typically, the distance between the brackets is two to three meters. The result is a lattice structure that is open on the slope.
