The Kraków Dome ( Polish Kopuła Krakówa , Kraków Dome ) is an ice dome on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It looms over the Krakow peninsula .
A Polish Antarctic expedition named it in 1980 after the former Polish capital Krakow . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2003.
