The Kraken Cove is the largest bay of Candlemas Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands . It is located on the north coast of the island immediately west of Demon Point . Inland it turns into the Gorgon Pool .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the bay in 1971 after the octopuses from Norwegian mythology.
