The HK Metalurg Pernik ( Bulgarian ХК Металург Перник ) was the ice hockey department (hockey club) of the Bulgarian sports club Metalurg Pernik from Pernik , which belonged to the Bulgarian ice hockey league until 2002 . The venue for HK Metalurg Pernik was the Zimny Stadium Metalurg in Pernik.
history
The association was founded in 1957 as Metalurg Pernik and renamed Lenin Pernik a year later . In 1960, the club returned to its original name before the club merged with Krakra Pernik in 1969 . Metalurg had previously won its first national championship title in 1968.
The team created by the merger was one of the dominant clubs at the beginning of the 1970s and was Bulgarian champions again in 1970 . In the 1972/73 season the club played as DFS Pernik .
In 1973 Metalurg split off from the merged club and then played in the Bulgarian ice hockey league until 1998, before another merger with Akademik Sofia followed in 1998 . HK Metalurg Pernik was re-established in 1999 and participated in gaming operations until 2002.
