history
In 1888 the first district hospital was opened in Freudenstadt on Herrenfelderstrasse. With two deaconesses and two city doctors. After several new constructions, conversions and extensions in 1926, 1952 and 1958, the district council decided in 1965 to completely rebuild at the current location in Freudenstadt's northern part of the city, which was completed in 1976. The previous hospital building was then converted into the Freudenstadt District Office in 1977. On July 18, 2016, the fundamental decision was made to partially build a new building at the current location.
