Krastina Panayotova

Krastina Panayotova (common transliteration Krastina Panayotova , Bulgarian Кръстина Панайотова ) is a Bulgarian classical archaeologist .

After graduating from high school in Stara Zagora , Panayotova studied history from 1976 to 1981 with a focus on archeology at the University of Sofia . In 1989 she was accepted at the National Archaeological Institute and Museum of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences with a dissertation on burial customs in the Greek colonies on the Black Sea from the 6th to the 1st century BC. . Chr doctorate . She works at this institute to this day and is the head of the Department of Classical Archeology.

Panayotowa directs a. a. archaeological excavations in Sozopol (Greek necropolis of Apollonia Pontica and monastery of the Holy Apostles and the 20,000 Martyrs).
