The Kraterisen ( Norwegian for Kratereis ) is a 2.5 km long and 1.5 km wide glacier area in the caldera in the western part of the sub-Antarctic Bouvet Island . It lies between the Olavtoppen in the east, the Randtoppen in the south and the Wilhelm II plateau and the Skoddenuten in the west. It is the origin of the Posadowsky Glacier , which flows north to the Morgenstierne coast .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it.
