District Fire Council

A district fire officer (KBR) is a special management level of the fire brigade in Bavaria .

According to the Bavarian Fire Brigade Act, it is the highest level of fire fighting technology. The district fire board directs the fire services of a district. In urban districts , the commander has the title Stadtbrandrat (SBR). Him are circular city fire inspectors and and - fire chief assumed. Together they form the district fire inspection . Up until a few decades ago there were still district fire inspectors , which, however, were abolished without replacement. The function of the KBR is carried out on a voluntary basis, however, a corresponding expense allowance can be made by the district (up to € 2,130.10 / month). District fire councils often also take on the role of local operations manager in disaster control.
