The two half - timbered buildings in Central Swabia that initially formed the museum did not originally stand on the site at the Stoffenried village pond, but were moved there. The Sölde , a part-time farming, comes from Oberwiesenbach (municipality of Wiesenbach ), the former Pfründhäusel - after it was built in 1798, first used as a delivery house , from 1816 as a day laborer's and craftsman's house - from Hohenraunau (district of the city of Krumbach ). Since 1991 a transferred rope factory from Langenhaslach and the neighboring building at Beim Neher-Bader , also a farmhouse, belong to the museum complex.

exhibition

In the district home parlor, handicrafts and agricultural equipment, objects of customs, textiles and household items from the period from 1800 to 1930, which were collected from the entire district through acquisitions or donations, are shown. The equipment in the Sölde corresponds roughly to the condition of a small agricultural property around 1880. You can see the living room and chambers, the stable and a barn with agricultural equipment. A shoemaker's workshop and a tiny ropemaker's workshop have been set up in the former Pfründhäusel . In the Neher-Bader-Haus, a small historic house brewery was set up in the former stable. There is also a dye and herb garden on the museum grounds, in which old crops are grown.

On the days of the action, the devices are demonstrated in action, for example beer brewing in the Neher-Bader-Haus , bread baking or lace making in Sölde , the manufacture of seaweed shoes in the Pfründhäusel or ropes made from hemp and flax on the Seilerbahn, which goes from Langenhaslach to Stoffenried Garden of the district home parlor was moved. Some old handicraft techniques or handicraft activities can be tried out by visitors on some days, such as tying palm trees or carving the crib.
