Ellzee is a municipality in the Swabian district of Günzburg
geography
Ellzee is located in the Bavarian region of Donau-Günz.
The municipality has five officially named municipal parts (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):
- Ellzee ( Kirchdorf )
- Hausen (Kirchdorf)
- Hilbertshausen ( hamlet )
- Riedmühle ( wasteland )
- Stoffenried (Kirchdorf)
There are the districts Ellzee, Hausen and Stoffenried.
history
Until the church is planted
The place Ellzee belonged to the margraviate of Burgau in front of Austria and was the seat of one of the five bailiffs of the margraviate. Since the peace treaties of Brno and Pressburg in 1805, the place has belonged to Bavaria. Different free float in today's municipal area fell to Bavaria at different times: that of the Reichsstifte Roggenburg , Kaisheim , Ursberg , Wettenhausen in 1803; that of the barons of Vöhlin (reign of Neuburg a. d. Kammel) in 1806. In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's community was established with the community edict of 1818 .
Incorporations
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent communities of Hausen and Stoffenried were incorporated.

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,005 to 1,177 by 172 inhabitants or 17.1%.

Municipal council
The municipal council has twelve members. In the 2020 local elections , the following distribution of seats resulted in the four non-party lists:
- List of citizens of Ellze: 4 seats (28.4%)
- Stoffenried unit list: 3 seats (27.8%)
- Voter Association Ellzee Together: 3 seats (27.1%)
- Free voter association Hausen: 2 seats (16.8%)
In the 2014 to 2020 term of office, the municipal council was composed as follows:
- Voter Association Ellzee Together: 5 seats
- Stoffenried unit list: 4 seats
- Free voter association Hausen: 3 seats
mayor
The 1st mayor has been Gabriela Schmucker since May 1, 2020 (List of citizens of Ellze). She was elected on March 15, 2020 as the only nominated candidate with 89.3% of the vote.

- Karl Schlosser (* 1950, Stoffenried standard list) from 2002 to 2020
- Josef Hoser ( CSU ) from 1984 to 2002.
tax income
The municipal tax revenue in 2014 amounted to 878,000 euros, of which the trade tax revenue (net) was 219,000 euros.
coat of arms
Since 1968, guided arms is as follows described : Split by a narrow golden pile; in front five times obliquely left divided by silver and red, behind in blue an upright, growing silver abbot's staff.
The golden stake and the five oblique links between silver and red from the coat of arms of the Margraviate Burgau are reminiscent of the seat of one of the five Vogtämter of the Margraviate in Ellzee. The abbot's staff represents the ecclesiastical manors that are documented in Ellzee: The St.Ulrich and Afra monastery in Augsburg , Edelstetten, Wettenhausen, the Wengen monastery in Ulm and others.

Economy including agriculture and forestry
According to official statistics, there were 274 employees at the place of work in the manufacturing sector and 18 in the trade and transport sector. There were a total of 378 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were three companies in the manufacturing sector. In addition, there were 58 farms in 1999 with an agricultural area of 1291 hectares , of which 956 hectares were arable land and 335 hectares were permanent green space .
traffic
Ellzee is on federal highway 16 . The next motorway junction is Günzburg on federal motorway 8 , about eleven kilometers away. Ellzee has a stop at the Mittelschwabenbahn Mindelheim - Krumbach - Günzburg, where regional trains run.

Personalities
- Franz-Josef Schick (* 1936), politician (CSU), 1974 to 1996 district administrator of the Neu-Ulm district, was born in Ellzee.
