Kammeltal is a municipality in the Swabian district of Günzburg . There is no place of the same name.
geography
The municipality is located in the Donau-Iller region , between Ulm and Augsburg and about 11 km southeast of Günzburg . The ridge flows through it in a north-south direction .

history
On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Kammeltal was founded in the course of the municipal territorial reform from the formerly independent municipalities of Behlingen, Egenhofen, Ettenbeuren, Goldbach, Kleinbeuren, Ried and Wettenhausen (with Hammerstetten incorporated on January 1, 1971). On May 1, 1978 the community of Unterrohr was incorporated.

The municipal council has 16 members.
In the local elections on March 15, 2020 , the distribution of seats was as follows:
- Free voter association "Unteres Kammeltal": 6 seats (35.71%)
- Citizens' block Ettenbeuren-Egenhofen-Unterrohr: 5 seats (35.19%)
- "Upper Kammeltal" unit list: 5 seats (29.10%)
In the 2008 and 2014 local elections, the civic bloc won six seats each, while the single list won four seats each. The Free Voters' Association received six seats in 2008, 2014 and 2020.
Mayor has been Thorsten Wick (voter group Bürgerernahes Kammeltal) since May 1, 2020, who prevailed against the incumbent with 64.4% in the election on March 15, 2020.
His predecessor Matthias Kiermasz was in office from May 2014 to April 2020 (Citizens 'Block Ettenbeuren-Egenhofen-Unterrohr / "Unit List Upper Kammeltal Behlingen, Ried, Egenhofen, Unterrohr" / Free Voters' Association "Lower Kammeltal") and participated in the Local election received 93.78% of the valid votes.
Before that, Christian-Konrad Wiesner (unit list / FWV) was the head of the community from 2002 to 2014.

The municipal tax revenue in 1999 amounted to the equivalent of € 1257 thousand, of which € 127 thousand (net) was trade tax income. In 2010 the tax revenue amounted to EUR 2.0 million, of which EUR 430 thousand was due to trade tax.
In 1998, according to official statistics, there were eleven employees in the field of agriculture and forestry, 108 in the manufacturing sector and 17 in the trade and transport sector at the place of work. In other economic sectors 134 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were 1176 employees subject to social security contributions at the place of residence. There was one in the manufacturing sector and eight in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 76 farms with an agricultural area of 2063 ha, of which 1248 ha were arable land.
