Landensberg is located in the Donau-Iller region.

The community lies on the western edge of the landscape called Holzwinkel , which forms the northern part of the Augsburg-Westliche Wälder Nature Park .

history

Until the church is planted

Landensberg is a clearing settlement . From the 15th to the 17th century, the place was part of the Konzenberg rule of the margraviate Burgau, which belonged to Austria . Since the peace treaties of Brno and Pressburg in 1805, the place has belonged to the newly formed Kingdom of Bavaria .

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Glöttweng was incorporated.

mayor

Johannes Böse (Free Voters' Association) has been mayor since May 1, 2020; he was elected with 72.5% of the vote. His predecessor was Sven Tull from May 2008 to April 2020.

Municipal council

The municipal council consists of eight members. In the 2020 local elections , the Landensberg Free Voters' Association (51.0%) and the Glöttweng Free Voter Block (49.0%) each had four seats.

coat of arms

The coat of arms is divided lengthways and shows a griffin on a silver background on the right, a white rose over a tree stump on a blue background on the left. The griffin and the four-petalled rose come from the family coat of arms of the local noble family von Seida and were incorporated into the municipal coat of arms in 1971.

In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the manufacturing sector 17 or in the trade and transport sector. In other economic sectors, four people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were 15 companies in the manufacturing sector and one company in the main construction sector.
