Community structure

The municipality has five officially named municipal parts (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):

The municipality is divided into three districts : Aletshausen, Haupeltshofen and Winzer.

location

Aletshausen and Haupeltshofen are in the valley of the Kammel , the scattered settlement Wasserberg in the valley of the Adelgerngraben , which flows into the Kammel in Aletshausen. Gaismarkt is located on the Riedel between the valleys of Kammel and Haselbach , winegrowers above the edge of the Mindeltal valley on the Riedel between Haselbach and Mindel . The municipality of Aletshausen is located in the Donau-Iller region in the administrative district of Swabia .

Type of settlement

The street plan of the old town center of Aletshausen is laid out like a ladder. It is extraordinary that this system is still so well preserved today.

Neighboring communities

Neighboring communities are Waltenhausen in the west and the city of Krumbach (Swabia) in the north . In the northeast, the community borders on the community-free area Winzerwald and the community Ursberg . In the south, in the area of Haupeltshofen, the municipality of Breitenbrunn , located in the district of Unterallgäu , borders the municipality, in the south and east of the market town of Kirchheim in Swabia, which also belongs to the neighboring district .

history

Until the church is planted

Aletshausen was first mentioned in 1316 in connection with the fact that some goods in the village belonged to the possession of the Augsburg bishopric . The other goods were part of the Freyberg rule of Hohen- and Niederraunau . Later, until the early 19th century, the entire place belonged to the domain of the Lords of Freyberg. With the Rheinbund act 1806 the place came to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Incorporations

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipalities Haupeltshofen and Winzer (with Gaismarkt) were incorporated on the occasion of the municipal reform.

Population development

  • 1961: 1186 inhabitants
  • 1970: 1146 inhabitants

politics

City council and mayor

In the local elections on March 15, 2020 , only the joint list of all districts submitted an election proposal; it received all twelve seats in the council.

Georg Duscher (CSU / Free Voters) has been mayor since 2008. He was re-elected in 2014 with 86.9% of the votes and confirmed in office for another six years on March 15, 2020 with 79.7% of the votes.

coat of arms

The Peter's key in the upper left field indicates the former possessions of the Augsburg collegial monastery of St. Peter. Among them are the three balls from the coat of arms of the Freiherrn von Freyberg. The grapes in the right field represent the place vintner. The color of the grape (silver) indicates the former property of the Augsburg bishopric. The golden post in the middle of the coat of arms refers to the main Elshofen belonging to the margraviate of Burgau and its former border location on the border between the margraviate and the rule of Mindelheim .

Attractions

The parish church of St. Cross, which is located on the south-western outskirts of the village directly on the Kammel, was built in the second half of the 15th century and rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1762 - probably by Johann Martin Kraemer . The frescoes in the church are by the Weißenhorn fresco artist Franz Martin Kuen . The side altars, the pulpit and the baptismal font were bought in 1910 from Geiersthal in Lower Bavaria in the Regen district, the altar was created by Georg Saumweber in the same year. With two extensions to the nave (1762 and 1910/11), the proportions of the space in the church are unusual. The cylindrical tower end is also rather unusual. The renovation in the 18th century also took place because the church was badly damaged in the Thirty Years' War . A first chapel is mentioned in 1067, a predecessor of today's church in 1316.

Lourdes Chapel Aletshausen

To the east of the village is the Lourdes grotto , which was built in the early 20th century.
