Ebershausen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Günzburg and a member of the administrative community Krumbach (Swabia) .

Location and community structure

The municipality is located in the Swabian district in the Donau-Iller region .

There are three officially named parts of the municipality (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):

The three places also form the three districts that exist in the municipality.

The community is located on the western edge of the Haselbach valley in the area where the Gutnach flows into the Haselbach. Seifertshofen is north of Ebershausen, also on the western edge of the Haselbach valley. Waltenberg, on the other hand, lies northeast of Ebershausen on the western edge of the Riedel between the Gutnach valley and the Krumbächles .

Neighboring communities

Neighboring communities are in the north the community Breitenthal , in the east the city Krumbach , in the southeast the community Waltenhausen , in the south the community Kirchhaslach in the Unterallgäu district and in the west the community Kettershausen, which also belongs to the neighboring district . In the east, the community also borders the community-free area Ebershauser-Nattenhauser Wald , which almost completely surrounds the village of Waltenberg.

Until the church is planted

Ebershausen belonged to the endowment of the Reichsstift Roggenburg and was fiefdom of the Hochstift Augsburg since the 15th century . Since the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , the municipality of Ebershausen was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Seifertshofen was incorporated.

City council and mayor

In the 2020 municipal council election, only the nomination of the Free Voting Association was available, which received all eight seats, as it did in the 2014-2020 term.

Mayor has been Harald Lenz (Greens) since May 1, 2020; he was the only candidate to be elected on March 15, 2020 with 84.0% of the vote. His predecessor was Herbert Kubicek (* 1949) (Free Association of Voters) with a term of office of 30 years - from 1990 to 2020. He was last confirmed in office in 2014 with 79.8% of the votes.

The coat of arms shows the lifting tongs from the coat of arms of Ulrich Schappran, a citizen of Ulm, who owned land in Ebershausen in 1425. The colors of the coat of arms are red and silver.

Attractions

The parish church of St. Martin was built in the second half of the 15th century and rebuilt in the 18th century. In 1913 the church was furnished in the neo- baroque style. Since a purification in the 1970s, the interior has been kept very simple. The church at the highest point of the village can be seen from afar from the valleys of the Haselbach and Gutnach. From 2007 to 2015 the church was restored and artistically reoriented.

According to the 2016 official statistics, there were 37 employees subject to social security contributions at the place of work. Of the resident population, 266 people were in an employment subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 229 higher than that of in-commuters. Three residents were unemployed. In the same year there were 15 farms in the municipality.

The federal road 300 ( Memmingen - Krumbach ) runs through the municipality from southwest to northeast and the district road GZ 13 from north to south along the valleys of the Haselbach in the north and the Gutnach in the south.

Since July 2009, the places of the community have been connected to the Krumbach city ​​bus service ( Flexibus Krumbach ), which is carried out with minibuses according to the principle of demand-controlled area operation.
