Rettenbach is a municipality in the Swabian district of Günzburg and a member of the Offingen administrative community .

geography

Rettenbach is located in the Donau-Iller region in the north of the Günzburg district.

The following districts exist : Harthausen, Remshart, Rettenbach.

The municipality has four officially named municipal parts (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):

Rettenbach borders on the municipalities: Günzburg , Offingen , Dürrlauingen and Burgau . In the municipality, the Kammel flows into the Mindel , before it flows into the Danube near Offingen.

history

Until the church is planted

Rettenbach was partly a fiefdom of the bishopric of Augsburg and partly of the margraviate of Burgau . The lords of Riedheim were able to acquire the high estates fiefdom in 1446 and the two parts of the Burgau fiefdom and thus the local rule in 1517. The Riedheim rule of Harthausen came to the Kingdom of Bavaria with the Rhine Confederation Act in 1806 .

Incorporations

The previously independent communities Harthausen and Remshart were incorporated into Rettenbach on July 1, 1970 .

  • 1961: 1155 inhabitants, 226 of them in Harthausen, 202 in Remshart and 727 in Rettenbach
  • 1970: 1180 inhabitants, 196 of them in Harthausen, 222 in Remshart and 762 in Rettenbach
  • 1987: 1275 inhabitants
  • 1991: 1385 inhabitants
  • 1995: 1411 inhabitants
  • 2000: 1573 inhabitants
  • 2005: 1639 inhabitants
  • 2010: 1629 inhabitants
  • 2015: 1655 inhabitants

Of the 1708 inhabitants determined by the municipality in 2009, 355 lived in Harthausen, 293 in Remshart and 1060 in Rettenbach.

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,277 to 1,652 by 375 inhabitants or by 29.4%.

The municipal council has twelve members. In the election on March 15, 2020 , the three nominations achieved the following results:

  • CSU: 4 seats (33.5%)
  • Independent voters Rettenbach (UWR): 4 seats (37.3%)
  • Citizens' list Rettenbach (BL): 4 seats (29.2%)

In the 2014 to 2020 term of office, the municipal council was composed as follows:

  • CSU: 3 seats
  • Independent voters Rettenbach (UWR): 4 seats
  • Citizens' list Rettenbach (BL): 5 seats

Sandra Dietrich-Kast has been mayor since 2008; she was confirmed in office for a further six years in the election on March 15, 2020 with no opponent.

Economy and Infrastructure

Economy including agriculture and forestry

In 1998, according to official statistics, there were 238 people in the manufacturing sector and no employees in the trade and transport sector at the place of work. In other economic areas, 29 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 571 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were none in the manufacturing sector and six in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 29 farms with an agriculturally used area of ​​661 ha, of which 525 ha were arable land and 136 ha were permanent green space.

The largest employer in Rettenbach is Reflexa-Werke Albrecht GmbH with 280 employees, which manufactures sun protection products, roller shutters and insect protection systems.

tourism

The Silbersee located in the Remshart district, created by gravel mining, is a popular local recreation area and, in winter, quarters for migratory birds from the north. Rettenbach is located on the Via Julia , a former Roman military road that leads from Günzburg via Augsburg to Salzburg .
