Röfingen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Günzburg and a member of the Haldenwang administrative community .
geography
Röfingen is located in the Donau-Iller region. It includes the districts of Roßhaupten and Röfingen. The parish village of Röfingen and the parish village of Roßhaupten are also the two officially named parts of the municipality of Röfingen.
history
Until the church is planted
Röfingen is historically located in the margraviate of Burgau , which belonged to the House of Habsburg from 1301 until the Peace of Pressburg in 1805 . In the treaty of 1805, the entire margraviate fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria, the municipality of Röfingen was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Today's municipality has been made up of the formerly independent municipalities Röfingen and Roßhaupten since the territorial reform that came into force on July 1, 1972.

- 1961: 1113 inhabitants, 330 of them in Roßhaupten
- 1970: 1135 inhabitants, 353 of them in Roßhaupten
- 1987: 1099 inhabitants

- 2015: 1090 inhabitants
Between 1988 and 2018, the community grew from 1,083 to 1,145 by 62 inhabitants or 5.7%.
politics
The municipal council has twelve members. In the 2020 local elections , the Independent Voters (49.5%) and the Citizens' List (50.5%) each had six seats.
Mayor has been Johann Brendle (independent voters Röfingen / Roßhaupten) since 2014; he was confirmed in office on March 15, 2020 for a further six years.

According to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work subject to social insurance contributions in the manufacturing sector 92 or in the trade and transport sector in 1998. In other economic sectors, 15 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 404 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were three companies in the manufacturing sector and one in the construction sector. In 1999 there were also 20 farms with an agricultural area of 444 ha, of which 268 ha were arable land.
