Glöttweng is a village in the municipality of Landensberg in the Swabian district of Günzburg on the western edge of the landscape called Holzwinkel , which forms the northern part of the Augsburg-Westliche Wälder Nature Park .

The place is about 1.5 km west of Landensberg in the valley of the Glött , which rises south of the village.

history

Like the neighboring town of Landensberg, Glöttweng is a clearing settlement that emerged in the late Middle Ages. In terms of manorial history, it was closely linked to the neighboring village until 1805. Until March 31, 1971 ( regional reform in Bavaria ) Glöttweng was an independent municipality.
