Kreuzkirche (Nieheim)
The Evangelical Kreuzkirche is a listed church building in Nieheim , in the Höxter district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). Church and congregation belong to the Evangelical Church of Westphalia .
History and architecture
The neo-Gothic hall church with retracted choir in the 5/8 end was built from 1868 to 1869 from irregular sandstone blocks. The free storey of the presented west tower is divided by buttresses and is covered by a triangular gable. In 1869, destroyed by a hurricane spire was restored shorter to 1876th In the interior, heavily bushed rib vaults rest on consoles. In the choir yoke there are two-part niches with a neo-Romanesque column made of red sandstone. The baptism as well as the altar with crucifix and apostles were made of sandstone.
